Approximately one in three people in the United States between the ages of 65 and 74 has some degree of hearing loss, and nearly half of those older than 75 report having difficulty hearing. While hearing loss of this kind is typically caused by physical changes as we age, it can also stem from everyday life or job-related noise for people of any age.
